In 1522, Guru Nanak Dev Ji settled in Kartarpur after his long Udasis (travels). He established a unique community based on three principles: Kirat Karni (honest work), Vand Chakna (sharing with others), and Naam Japna (meditating on God’s name). He lived here for 18 years, cultivating the land, serving the community, and spreading his divine message. After his passing in 1539, the Gurdwara was built to commemorate his life and teachings. Today, it stands as a symbol of peace, unity, and spiritual heritage for millions worldwide.
